Angenieux HR 25-250mm T3.5

Angenieux’s “HR” (high resolution) zooms are the predecessors to the Optimo zooms. The 25-250mm is an industry workhorse for both film and digital, and is still one of the most compact high-performance 10x Super 35mm cinema zooms out there. It covers an amazing range, has excellent reliable mechanics, and Angenieux’s now legendary image quality, rivaling, and in some ways surpassing prime lenses.

The lens produces lovely skin tones, and really nice bokeh character. It’s smooth, never busy, but still has some texture. Due to it’s more modern coatings, the HR’s flare character never overwhelms the image.

Although this is a heavier lens, compared to other lenses that have similar zoom ratios, the HR is actually rather compact. This lens can be used on any of our Super 35 cameras, however when using an expander, it can also be used on any of our full frame cameras as well.

This lens covers very large focal range, which has made it a go to for many productions as it can cover a large enough focal range for an entire production
